WTF Notebooks FAQ

WTF Notebooks are custom made in our production house near Salt Lake City, UT. 

Custom made means we don't have any inventory in stock. Each WTF Notebook is printed to your individual choices of notebook type, cover color, and inside pages. The printing process starts within an hour after you've finalized your purchase.

Our notebooks are printed on premium paper stock using the latest Indigo print technology. All softcover books are carefully bound with a durable metal wire-O spiral, while the hardcover books are case-wrapped in heavy stock board cover.

The inside pages come with 120 pages of 90gsm paper, and has been tested successfully on various fountain pens.

We think very highly of the quality of our notebooks. But don't take our word for it – take a look at what other customers say about their WTF Notebooks.

Yes, the funny title is repeated on the spine of our hardcover notebooks.

The softcovers, however, come with a metal spiral ...and spirals are notoriously difficult to print on.

Do funny t-shirts come with comedians?

No, there are no funny sayings inside, because they are notebooks for you to take notes in. But we do give you the choice of inside page print.

Jokes aside – we've throughly tested a number of different fountain pens on our inside pages, and the 90gsm paper is heavy enough to not 'bleed' through ink of regular pens and most fountain pens.

Generally, it takes 2 to 5 business days for your order to be printed, bound and packed up.

Most orders are ready for shipment within a couple of business days, but during periods of higher order volume it can occasionally take the full 5 business days.

Believe us when we say that we're always looking for ways to speed up our production line. But it's not as simple as hitting 'print' on your office printer. And let's be honest, waiting an extra couple of days or so for a custom-made, quality notebook really isn't that bad, is it?

If you need your WTF Notebooks tomorrow, this may not be the right time to place an order. Maybe next time – and with a little more time to spare.

The long answer is that all orders placed on this website get printed by our production team based near Salt Lake City, UT. This is also where we ship from. We've also got a production team in England but to order from there you need to pop over to WTF Notebooks UK.

The shipping cost will be calculated at checkout and depends on the number of books in your order, and the shipping method you choose.

The best way to calculate your shipping costs is to use the calculator on our Production & shipping page. Also review our Bundle Discounts as we offer tiered deals, including some with free shipping.

Because we don't hold any stock. We custom print each notebook to your chosen specs after you've placed your order.

That depends on the shipping method you choose during checkout. Please keep in mind that we first need to print your order, and that shipping starts from the day your order leaves our facilities.

That's because Amazon and other retailers don't custom-make your orders. Amazon also has its own fleet of cargo planes. Maybe one day we'll have that too. Then we can also launch genitalia-shaped rockets into space.

We are probably printing your notebooks right now. Production times depend on the size of your order and the volume of orders on our print presses, so it might take a few days to get your order ready to leave our facilities. But rest assured that your order will ship and you will get a tracking code as soon as it’s on the way.

You have 1 hour to cancel your order by clicking the cancel button in your order confirmation email. After that, it’s too late to cancel: Your order will be in production – and we won’t apologize for being efficient.

Sorry, we had to hit print at some stage. You're just going to have be a grown-up and accept the ramifications of your actions.

Yikes! We can proudly say that less than 1 percent of all WTF Notebooks are reported for misprints. But when you are that 1 percent, it feels like 100 percent – so we’re happy to reprint or refund any mis-printed or mis-bound notebooks.

Ideally take a couple of photos of the damage and get in touch, and we’ll get you sorted.

Oops, obviously that wasn't our intention. Ideally get a photo ready for the incorrect notebooks, then flick us an email and we’ll make sure you get the notebooks that you paid for.

Our notebooks are made to order. This means that every notebook you customize and purchase is unique.

Because your order was individually printed to your order specs, we are unable to accept returns if you change your mind. Please see our Shipping & Refund Policy.

But have you heard of regifting?

You're good to go, because we never add receipts inside the packaging.

Instead, your receipt is emailed to you in the form of an order confirmation as soon as you complete your purchase.

Yes, you can, and it's free: Once you've chosen your WTF Notebooks you'll find a text box in the order summary of your checkout, that allows you to write a personal note to the recipient, which will be printed on a separate gift card and added to your order.
